Sugaring uses a natural paste made from just sugar, lemon, and water, applied and removed in the direction of hair growth. Because it only grips hair and dead skin rather than live cells, it causes less trauma than wax, with less redness and irritation, and it naturally exfoliates as it works, which helps prevent ingrown hairs over time.
